No idea what a peptide is? Perfect. I'm Rachel, I make chaotic, relatable peptide content on TikTok, and I get the same DMs every day: what even is this, where do I start, and how do I not get scammed. This page answers all three.
Nothing here is medical advice. Just what I wish someone told me on day one.
Okay, so what is a peptide?
A short chain of amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. A few of them strung together is a peptide. A lot of them is a protein.
Your body already makes thousands of peptides. Insulin is one. So are the hormones that tell you when you're full, when to heal, and when to sleep. Peptides are tiny messengers that tell cells what to do.
The ones people talk about online are lab-made versions of those messengers. Researchers study them for weight regulation, tissue repair, skin, sleep and more. Some became FDA-approved prescriptions (Ozempic and Mounjaro are peptides). Most are still only sold as research chemicals, which brings us to the part nobody explains to beginners.
The "research chemical" thing, explained
Most peptides online are labeled "for research purposes only, not for human consumption." That is the legal status. Not a prescription, not FDA-approved for what people use it for, and no vendor will tell you how to use it. Everything you learn about how people use them comes from communities, not the bottle. Know that going in, and talk to a doctor you trust.

"Studied for" means what researchers are looking at, not a promise. I'm not telling you what to take. I'm telling you what the words mean so you can go read the actual research.

How to not get scammed
The most important section on this page. The peptide world has real vendors and a lot of people who want your money. Let's see if you can tell them apart.
Walk away if you see
- Someone DMs you first offering to sell. Real vendors don't slide into DMs.
- Anyone using my name or face to sell. I only sell through links on this site.
- No third-party testing, or testing they won't show you.
- Prices way below everyone else.
- Gift cards, Venmo friends-and-family, Cash App or crypto as the only payment option.
- No reviews anywhere, or reviews that all sound like one person.
- Anyone telling you how much to use, promising results, or calling it a cure.
A legit vendor has
- Third-party lab testing you can look at. A COA from a known lab (Janoshik is the one most of us trust) showing purity and amount.
- Testing on the batch you're buying, not one old report from years ago.
- A real community posting their own orders and test results.
- Normal payment options like a card.
- Clear shipping and storage info. Peptides that sat warm in a mailbox for a week aren't the same product.
About the impersonators
My accounts get banned a lot, so scammers make copycat accounts and message my followers. I will never DM you to sell anything. Every link I use is on this site. If it's not here, it's not me.
